Since the early nineties of the last decade, the Israeli Occupation has been imposing restrictions on the Gaza Strip, and the restrictions were intensified after Hamas movement came to power in the Gaza Strip in June of 2007. Under the pretext of “security reasons,” the signs of the siege of the Gaza Strip began to appear in 2006 when the Israeli occupation decided to close the "Erez" crossing and prevent movement through it except for holders of special permits. Egypt also closed the Rafah crossing in 2007 and this closure continued for 3 years while allowing the passage of some special cases such as students or patients.
